Canada Day in Abbotsford: Where to Go for the Parade, Fireworks, and Family Fun

Canada Day in Abbotsford - Where to Go for the Parade, Fireworks, and Family Fun
Looking for the best Canada Day events in Abbotsford? Canada Day 2026 lands on Wednesday, July 1, and the city has a full day of celebrations planned, including a parade, a family festival, food trucks, live music, and fireworks.
This year’s theme is “Roots & Rhythm,” a nod to the cultural roots and shared energy that make Abbotsford such a special place to call home.
Here is how to plan your day, whether you are bringing the whole family or just coming out for the evening show.
Start with the Parade (11:00 AM)
The day kicks off with the Canada Day Parade at 11:00 AM. It runs down South Fraser Way starting from Bourquin Crescent, continues along Trethewey Street, and finishes at W.J. Mouat Secondary School on Mouat Drive.
Floats, marching groups, local performers, and community organizations all take part. It draws a crowd, so arrive early to claim a good spot along the route. A shady patch is worth the extra few minutes of hunting on a warm July morning.
One heads up for drivers: expect road closures around the city centre through the morning. If you are moving around that part of town, give yourself extra time and plan an alternate route.
Spend the Afternoon at Exhibition Park (1:00 PM)
After the parade, the celebration moves to Abbotsford Exhibition Park at 32470 Haida Drive for a free, all-ages family festival starting at 1:00 PM. Most activity zones run from 1:00 to 5:00 PM unless noted otherwise, and there is genuinely something for every age:
  • Agri-Fun Zone: Hayrides, farm animals, and agricultural exhibits.
  • RAD Torque Play Zone: Face painting, a sand box, slides, and art activities.
  • S.T.E.M Zone: Hands-on science and tech exhibits, including activities from the Abbotsford Airshow STEM program and a brick-building zone.
  • Sports Zone: Drop-in fun with local clubs and sports organizations, from gymnastics and martial arts to hockey and basketball.
  • Arts & Culture Zone: Performances and activities celebrating Abbotsford’s diverse arts and cultural community.
  • Dog show: Three showtimes at 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00 PM.
  • Mini golf, inflatables, and airbrush tattoos: Open a little later, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM.
Parents of little ones will appreciate the Sensory Safe Area in the Legacy Building, open from 1:00 to 6:00 PM, alongside the Sports Hall of Fame.
Marketplace and Food Trucks
Over at the Abbotsford Exhibition Fields, a handmade and homegrown Artisan Marketplace runs from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, coordinated by The Mango Market, with dozens of local makers selling everything from jewellery and pottery to baked goods and preserves.
Come hungry. The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival brings a full lineup of food trucks from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with options ranging from burgers and grilled cheese to shawarma, noodles, sweet treats, and more. If you want to avoid the longest lines, consider grabbing dinner before the evening concert begins.
Live Music on the Main Stage
The main stage runs from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, opening with an afternoon of performances from local community and cultural groups before building into the evening concert lineup:
  • 6:00 PM: Ben Cottrill
  • 7:00 PM: The Cambree Lovesy Band
  • 8:00 PM: Danielle Ryan
  • 9:00 PM: JoJo Mason
Headliner JoJo Mason takes the stage at 9:00 PM, fresh off winning the 2026 BC Country Music Award for Video of the Year for his single “Gold.”
A few tips for the afternoon stretch: bring sunscreen, hats, and water, and pack a blanket or folding chairs. You will want them for the concert and again for the fireworks.
Stay for the Fireworks (10:00 PM)
The day wraps up with a fireworks show at 10:00 PM, weather permitting, launching from the ball diamonds.
It is the grand finale, set to music and well worth sticking around for. Find a spot on the open field with a clear view and settle in with your blanket or chairs before show time.
